Belinda McMillan

When Belinda completed her law degree in 2003 she remained with the same firm as a solicitor where she continued her residential property work for a developer, while also doing private client sales and purchases. She was also involved in other areas of commercial and private client legal work.In 2004 Belinda decided to undertake a two year working holiday in the United Kingdom. During this time her main role was working for a law firm in London whose major client was a mid-tier commercial lender. While in this position she gained valuable knowledge in the area of commercial mortgages. Her client pioneered the first public securitisation in the UK of a type of business mortgage which had been traditionally utilised by specialist residential lenders, achieving volume funding and competing with institutional lenders.Belinda commenced employment with Owen Hodge in 2006 in the Commercial Property and Finance team. Her work involves Banking and Finance, Commercial Leasing, and Commercial Transactions including franchising, sale of land and sale of businesses. She is also involved in supervising the work of a major national lender, in respect of their retail loans.
