Ann Parnell (Special Counsel) was admitted in New South Wales in February 1992. Ann has been praised by a number of Justices of the NSW Supreme Court for her thorough preparation of cases presented before the Court. One of those was Justice Finlay in the matter of Morkaya. Throughout her years of practice Ann had handled numerous difficult cases involving extremely complex legal issues and issues relating to complex quantum assessment. Ann has represented her clients at hearings, arbitrations and CARS assessments without Counsel being engaged therefore reducing significantly legal fees for her clients.

Ann Parnell achieved a Bachelor of Arts in 1983 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1991. She was accredited with personal injury law specialisation in 1996. Prior to joining Owen Hodge Lawyers in 1998, Ann worked exclusively in the personal injury litigation section for two large city firms. Ann was an associate to a major suburban firm working in the area of personal injury litigation. Ann is dedicated to providing her clients with quality legal advice and obtaining for them the best result available within the law. Since 2003, Ann has become a Special Counsel.

Ann has acted for many clients seeking compensation for injuries received in motor accidents, in using faulty products, at work (including hearing loss and dust diseases) and in public places. Ann has also acted for many clients seeking compensation or reinstatement for unfair dismissal or through discrimination at work. Her knowledge in industrial law has significantly helped injured workers achieve sound compensation in both fields of law.

Ann has achieved a high volume of settlements due to her negotiation skills, reputation and extensive knowledge of the State and Federal law in the areas of her practice. Over 90% of cases handled by Ann have been settled.

Mark Field (Senior Associate) was admitted in December 1996. In 2002 Mark was accredited with specialisation in Personal Injury Law. Mark has handled many complex cases in Motor Accident and Workers Compensation, which include brain and serious bodily injuries. Mark has been responsible for obtaining many large verdicts on behalf of his clients.

It is Mark’s aim that he always provide frank and honest advice to his clients, to always be contactable by his clients to discuss their matter, to advise them of the best way to resolve their dispute and to obtain a satisfactory outcome with a minimum of emotional distress.
