After completing his legal studies with a fine academic record and his admission as a solicitor in 1970, Richard was made a partner in two Sydney firms before commencing his own practice in 1975.

Richard conducted a very successful city legal practice for over 30 years, acting for corporate and private clients in a wide range of matters. He has a loyal following of clients who appreciate his skill and experience, his attention to detail and practical advice. The firm of Farmer, Campbell, Edmunds merged with Owen Hodge Lawyers on 1 July 2008 and Richard is now practising as Special Counsel in the City office of Owen Hodge Lawyers.

Richard has extensive experience in Property Law and Business Law. Richard conducts both commercial and residential conveyancing and has handled very large and complex matters including the purchase of city office buildings.

Richard specialises in the handling of commercial and retail leases and also sale and purchase of businesses. He also has experience in property development work, general commercial contracts and has conducted appeals to the Land and Environment Court of NSW.

Richard has also had a wealth of experience in Elder Law including preparation of Wills including testamentary trusts, Powers of Attorney and Appointments of Enduring Guardian, applications for Probate and Letters of Administration and Family Provision claims in the Supreme Court of NSW.

Richard is working closely with Roger Harkin, our commercial property partner and is continuing to provide good service to his former clients and other clients of Owen Hodge Lawyers.

Richard has studied French since school and university. He can provide legal advice to clients whom prefer to converse in French. Richard enjoys travelling and has visited France a number of times. Richard has been a Rotarian for approximately 26 years at the Rotary Club of Epping and more recently at the Rotary Club at Five Dock and served as President of the Rotary Club of Five Dock in 2007/08.
